Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is double-spaced from the introduction on; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Articles
Articles must have a minimum of 40 thousand and a maximum of 70 thousand characters with spaces, including bibliographical references, notes, title, abstract, key words in one of three languages (Portuguese or English or Spanish), and authorship data (count on Word or Star Office word processor tools, for example).
The publication of articles is conditioned to opinions from members of the Editorial Board or ad hoc collaborators. The selection of articles for publication takes as basic criteria their contribution to the editorial line of the Journal, the originality of the theme or treatment given to it, as well as the consistency and rigor of the theoretical and methodological approach. Eventual modifications of structure or content, suggested by the referees or by the Editorial Board, will only be incorporated with the agreement of the authors.
References to authors in the text should be in the form (Author, date) or (Author, date, p.), as in the examples: (Silva, 1989) or (Silva, 1989, p.95). Different titles by the same author, published in the same year, should be differentiated by adding a letter after the date, for example: (Garcia, 1995a), (Garcia, 1995b) etc.
The References must contain only the authors and texts cited in the paper and must be presented at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, obeying the updated norms. Articles that do not contain the references or that present them incorrectly will not be considered for examination and publication. University librarians are able to offer guidance on the correct use of the norms.
Footnotes should be exclusively explanatory. All notes should be numbered and appear at the foot of the page (use the word processor's automatic command: Insert/Notes).
All articles must contain, at the end, a title, at least three keywords and an abstract (in Portuguese or English or Spanish), each not exceeding 1,000 characters in length.
At the end of the text, the author must also register data regarding his major degree, institution, as well as indicate the e-mail address, ORCID and full address for correspondence. The same data will be removed before the text is submitted for evaluation.
The charts, graphs, maps, images etc. in png, jpg and jpeg format should be presented in gray scale or black and white within the body of the article. Whenever possible, they should be made for direct reproduction.
